04.05.2009 argonauten G2 win over ADC Global jury, collect a coveted Golden Cube

The argonauten G2 were among the top prize-winners at this year’s 88th Annual ADC Global Awards, distributed on the 30th of April in New York City. The multi-channel agency won a Golden Cube in the category “Interactive Advertising/New Media Innovation and Development” for their design and implementation of the Digital Concert Hall, a project for the Berliner Philharmoniker.

The Digital Concert Hall is the first online-streaming platform to broadcast classical concerts from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra globally and in full HD video and CD quality. Inspired by the impressive architecture of Berlin’s Philharmonie, the argonauten G2 developed a virtual concert hall that fully does justice to the Berliner Philharmoniker’s live performances. What’s more, the digital version offers additional services a real concert hall cannot: always the best seat, a variety of perspectives, and personalisable content – all of this unrestricted by time and place.

Winning at ADC Global is a sign of argonauten G2’s achievement in creating not just a platform but an inspiring online cultural event. The Annual Awards of the ADC Global are one of the ten most important advertising festivals worldwide. Founded in New York City in 1920, the Art Directors Club is the first international creative collective of its kind. Every year the renowned club honours the best work of the year in print and broadcast advertising, interactive media, graphic design, publication design, packaging, photography and illustration.

The Golden Cube represents another milestone in the prize-winning-history of the argonauten G2 and the Digital Concert Hall. Within weeks of launching, the Digital Concert Hall won a Favourite Website Award and was elected as “Site of the Day”. In April it won one of Germany’s most prestigious media prizes, a golden Lead Award, and the project has also been selected for the US One Show Interactive competition in May.
